Made in USA Performance Fabric

Is Revolution fabric made in the USA?

Yes. Revolution Performance Fabrics are made in the USA by STI, a family-owned textile company that has manufactured upholstery fabric in Kings Mountain, North Carolina since 1964. Revolution is also the only major performance fabric brand made with no PFC chemicals, relying on the inherent stain resistance of its olefin fiber rather than added fluorinated treatments. It's stain-resistant, bleach-cleanable without discoloring, and sold direct-to-consumer by the yard with swatches.

More and more shoppers and designers want to know where their fabric comes from and what's in it. Revolution Performance Fabrics are made in the USA and produced without PFC chemicals — two things that set them apart from many performance fabrics produced overseas or treated with fluorinated stain repellents.

Made in the USA since 1964

Revolution is manufactured by STI, a family-owned company that has been making upholstery fabric in Kings Mountain, North Carolina since 1964. STI employs over 300 people in North Carolina, including team members who have been with the company for decades. Manufacturing domestically supports tighter quality control, shorter supply chains, and American jobs.

Made without PFC chemicals

Many performance fabrics achieve stain resistance using PFC chemicals (the fluorinated treatments that make liquid bead on the surface). Revolution doesn't. STI discontinued the use of PFC chemicals in 2000 out of concern for employee and environmental health, and Revolution is the only major performance fabric brand made with no PFC chemicals. Instead, the stain resistance comes from the inherent properties of the olefin fiber itself — so it doesn't wash out or wear off.

A responsibly made synthetic fiber

Olefin is the only upcycled fiber used to make upholstery fabric — it's a byproduct of petroleum refining that was historically discarded or burned off. It's dyed without water and requires very little land or water to produce, giving it one of the smallest carbon footprints of any upholstery fiber. Learn more on our Environmental Impact page.

American-made and built to perform

Choosing domestic, PFC-free fabric doesn't mean compromising on performance. Revolution is stain-, fade-, and tear-resistant and bleach-cleanable without discoloring — most stains lift with a simple bleach-and-water solution. It's available across plains, patterns, textures, chenilles, and bouclés, for indoor and outdoor projects alike. See the cleaning instructions for care details.
