JULIAN PRICE HOUSE | SOUTHERN HOME MAGAZINE

Last month, a historic home in Greensboro received a HUGE makeover and Revolution was a part of it! The Julian Price House, also known as The Hillside House, is located just outside of downtown Greensboro, North Carolina. The home was originally built in 1929. The sprawling, Tudor style home includes 31 rooms, servants quarters, an auto court, gardens and a telephone room.

The home had multiple owners over the years, but unfortunately it fell into despair. The house was in such disarray that it was featured on a 2017 episode of the A&E series, "Hoarders". The current owners were a part of the "Hoarders" episode and the overall effort to bring the mansion back to it's original glory. In February 2018, Cheryl Luckett, owner of Dwell by Cheryl and a Revolution Design Ambassador, was asked to be a part of the Julian Price Showhouse sponsored by Southern Home magazine. Cheryl, being a North Carolina interior designer, was overjoyed to be a part of a historic project in her home state!

When a home is in a Showhouse, it is typically sponsored by a large home furnishings company or a home/style magazine. The Julian Price Showhouse was mainly sponsored by Southern Home magazine, but there were quite a few other sponsors that helped get this project off the ground (for a full sponsor list, click here). Southern Home asked a select group of designers to participate in redecorating the interior of the home. Each designer had to pick a room they wanted to design. Cheryl chose the master closet and dressing room.

Cheryl used Revolution pattern, Grande, on the interior walls of the closet... yes, the walls! Baity's Custom Upholstery, who is a customer, friend and King's Mountain neighbor, actually hung the fabric for Cheryl. The results are AMAZING! Cheryl also used Brentwood pattern, Hamilton, for the closet drapes and STI pattern, Quiz, on the dressing room bench.

The Julian Price Showhouse had multiple events during High Point Market and was open to the public to tour for the month of April. Below are photos of the Julian Price house, but to see more, visit their Facebook page @JulianPriceHouse.
