Keeping it in the Family
When asked to describe the culture and comradery at STI, a common response from employees is, “we are like a family here,” but for some employees, that saying is actually true! Claudine Cobb (better known as Momma), has been at STI for 43 years. She has worked nearly every position in the mill and remembers the days when her daughter, Patty, would run in to see her when she was only six years old. Patty, has gone from “running around the mill” to running the Sample Center for STI and has been with the company for 21 years. Her daughter, Jessica Dalton, spent time working at STI during summers as a teenager, but joined the company last year as a Production Planner. Combined, they have worked at STI for a total of 65 years!
Claudine, Patty and Jessica have the longest generational tenure at STI, but there are many other family members working alongside each other at our mill, warehouse and office. Creating an environment where families feel confident recommending STI as an employer to their loved ones, shows how important company culture is to our leadership team.
