40 Under 40: Anderson Gibbons

STI is proud to congratulate Anderson Gibbons on being awarded

'40 Under 40' by HFN Magazine!

Being third generation in a "fabric family", you could say that Anderson Gibbons was destined to be in the fabric industry. His father, Sean Gibbons, and grandfather, Bill Gibbons, paved their own roads to success in the business and continue to make significant impacts on an industry they have been a part of for over 75 years combined.

Anderson graduated from Montana State University in 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in Business and a minor in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. After graduating, Anderson embraced his entrepreneurial spirit and started a company, Finding Bluebird Days. The company provided lodging and tours of Montana for 8-10 people in a completely renovated 1980 Bluebird school bus.

As is the case with most small businesses, Finding Blue Bird Days had a small marketing budget. Instead of hiring photographers and videographers to capture his trips, Anderson taught himself how to use camera equipment and the software needed to transport his images to an online audience. Anyone that knows Anderson knows that he is always behind the camera and never in front of it!

After a year of meeting new people and seeing everything Montana had to offer, Anderson sold his company and headed south to pursue a career in fabric at STI. He spent his first year at STI learning all facets of the business, but kept his focus on what he knew best: marketing.

The launch of Revolution Performance Fabrics changed the home furnishings industry. Furniture manufacturers had to have it, but steadily, the end consumer had to have it too. After so many "how can I buy this?!" calls, Anderson and his dad decided to launch an online cut yardage store, www.RevolutionFabricByTheYard.com. Anderson took over this huge, new initiative and launched the site in January 2017.

The online store has seen great success and continues to grow. Anderson's self-taught skill and talent behind a camera contributes greatly to the advertising and marketing success of the Revolution brand. As Vice President of Marketing and e-Commerce, Anderson's role is expansive and at times very challenging, but his passion for fabric and creative marketing never wavers.

Above: Anderson can usually be found with a camera close by! His photography and videography skills provide STI and our customers with top-notch creative marketing materials that increase brand awareness and sales. When he's not behind a camera, he can be found running around the office helping however he can or in front of his computer managing www.RevolutionFabricByTheYard.com.
